Layout

You are here:

The Layout page contains properties that affect visualization elements like the axes, data format, and general layout of the items displayed. To go to a specific section, click the name of that section to expand the menu.

Style

The Style tab contains the Background Color selector. The visualization will be assigned a background color of your choice when you select it from the color palette or enter the color hex code.

Title

Title properties like the Title text and Title Position can be changed under this section.

Legend

You can add a Legend into your charts by checking the Enabled box under the Legend section. A Legend can be further customized with different Font FamilyFont StyleFont Size, and Font Color.

X Axis

Only applicable charts and diagrams (i.e. Line chart) will have this section. Here, you can enter a Title for the X Axis, and also customize it using the Title Font FamilyTitle Font StyleTitle Font Size, and Title Font Color properties.

You can also customize the X Axis labels in this section. Labels are the text or numeric values that are displayed on the chart axes in increments, such as the years or currency amounts. Label Format accepts styles like 00.00 for a formatting with two decimal places. You can further customize the label properties from Label Font FamilyLabel Font StyleLabel Font Size, and Label Font Color.

If you don’t want to use the system-generated chart, you can set Bounds for the X Axis values by entering the Min and Max values into the corresponding boxes under this field.

Axis Crossing property allows changing the axis placement. Selecting minimum value will place the X Axis on the ‘bottom’ of the chart area, while maximum value will place it on the ‘top’ of the chart area. Zero value will place it in the ‘middle’.

You can change the X Axis drawing interval from the Tick Count property. This essentially acts as an override to how many ‘ticks’ will be drawn on this axis. For example, a chart with 9 X Axis items will group the data interval into 5 items if you enter 4 for the Tick Count.

To hide the entire X Axis from the chart uncheck the Visible option. To remove the grid lines from the X Axis, uncheck the Show Grid Lines option.
